In May 2024, HELUKABEL Germany was awarded one of the most globally recognised awards and we couldn’t be happier for them. As the founding location and Headquarters of all of us HELUKABEL subsidiaries, they took the crown on behalf of us all. But what is the award and why does it exist? We took a deeper dive to let you all know…
What is the Best Managed Companies Award?
In 44 countries, Deloitte Digital has established a network of managed companies. They represent a range of sectors from retail and hospitality to construction and manufacturing.
In each of these countries, Deloitte hosts a yearly awards ceremony. They recognise a select number of medium-sized businesses that have shown exceptional qualities over the past year.
To select the businesses for awards, each entrant is subject to a strict evaluation process. It considers management capabilities and practices as well as strategies, innovations, culture, and financial performance.
Who Created the Best Managed Companies Award?
Deloitte Private, UBS, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) were the four organisations that came together to award this year’s Best Managed Companies winners in Germany. However, each country has its own localised organisations running the event.
That said, Deloitte is the common denominator. The idea - they say - is to recognise, celebrate and connect the best private companies in each country to foster a beacon of hope for the economy.
Deloitte created the awards back in 1993. This is when they considered the Canadian economy's backbone was in Private Businesses. So, they established a way to celebrate the best companies in the country. Today, however, it’s a globally-held event.
Where Was the Best Managed Companies 2024 Awards Held?
44 countries embrace the Deloitte Private Best Managed Companies award. And, all host events, locally at varied times throughout the year. Ireland, for example, hosted their 2024 awards ceremony in February while Germany hosted in May.

Instead of running through each country and listing where their Best Managed Companies 2024 awards were (or will be) held, we’ll just talk about Germany (because that’s where HELUKABEL Germany won!). Germany’s 2024 award ceremony was hosted in the stunning Frankfurt Palmengarten Ballroom.
Who Are the 2024 Best Managed Companies in Germany?
This year, 32 private German businesses participated. This is a strong demonstration of the country's growth in localised business.

What Recognition was HELUKABEL Germany Awarded?
This year, the HELUKABEL Germany team were recognised for Exceptional Corporate Management. This was in addition to their Best Managed Companies award.
This is fantastic news as the team worked hard to showcase the level of growth the family-owned company has achieved over the last 45 years.
